"This Boden dress (the blue one) is a good fit for my 2 year old who is tall and slim, the sleeves are a bit long just like on the photo but they're ok. I've washed this dress on the hand wash setting on my washing machine about 10 times now and have had no shrinking, shedding or bobbling and have had no complaints of it being ichy. Glad I bought it in the sale and I think she will be wearing it next winter with jeans/legging if its too short"

"Bought this dress in the blue-green colour for my 4 year old.
Ordered the 7-8 size as my daughter is very tall and a bit over-weight. The fit is nice although a bit long. Could have done with the 5-6.

I absolutely love the way this dress looks, however- after one wash (hand wash with delicate detergent) it came up bobbly and looks like it's been worn for ages. A bit dissapointing considering the price."

"I ordered both styles in a 5-6 for my almost 4 year old in the sale - thinking they would do for her in Winter 09. However, they've come today and I'm considering sending the pink/brown stripe one back as it's way shorter in length than the blue/green one - almost showing her behind - very odd. I agree that the sleeves are way too long too -considering it's on the short length side. I realise they were meant to be long on this style but not so long that their hands can't be seen!

This could be a great dress if the fit was better. Definately a one for leggings underneath or jeans - not sure she'd get away with tights!

Taking the comments on board about it being itchy I might return both?!?

Bit disappointed!"

"This dress was very disappointing I waited for it to come into stock and my little girl has only worn it twice - she finds it very itchy and it sheds everywhere. A shame because I love the look but not practical for an 18 month old."

"Waited for this dress to come back into stock as I had fallen in love with it for my almost 6 year old. Colour of dress wasn't as bright as the web and catalogue show which was disappointing. Have read reviewers saying that arms too long, but they were fine on my daughter although the hem length was too short. Sent dress back."

"Looked lovely, although the arms were a little long. Came up bobbly after hand washing in Ecover delicate liquid. The main gripe I have is the shedding of the wool onto anything and everything! Disappointing ..."

"After waiting a while for the order, it finally arrived and I was disappointed with the fit. It kind of hangs on the body with the arms being much too long. Even on the model you can see the arms way too long. Determined yo keep them, I washed them and put them in the tumble dryer for half an hour to shrink them a bit and that seems to have helped. The girls havent worn them yet"

"This dress is super soft and my 8 year old daughter loves it! She was so excited to wear it so the day it came she went out to the park and played football in it. I was so worried. It held up just fine though (there was snow on the ground - so no dirt)."

"I was very pleased with this dress. My daughter (almost five years old) was drawn to it immediately. I could see it being appropriate for an older child as well. Quite frankly, if Boden made it for women, I'd be tempted to buy one for myself! Super soft and comfy."

"For some reason I was expecting a bulkier knit for this dress. I remember being a little dissapointed in how thin the fabric was when the first dress had arrived. But the dress itself is adorable.I purchased two, both prints are very pretty. Size wise, they are on a bigger side, my three year-old wears a size 4 but she will have to grow into this one."

"I took the advice of another poster and ordered the largest girl size 13/14 for myself. I got the pink with stripes since I wasn't sure if I would find the blue dress too cutesy for me. My daughter has that one and it is adorable but I wasn't sure I could imagine it on me though now I'm thinking about ordering it. Length and sleevewise it is long enough for me. I did do some tugging in the bust area. I'm average but obviously have more of a chest than a 13 year old. I pulled it under my bust and then tightened the blue string. I think with either a bit more tugging or maybe removing that string and the emphasis on that area I will be happy with the fit. The pink/brown stipes are horizontal but I still think it is flattering. I wish Boden would make more fun, funky stuff like this for Mom. I think with this year's spotty crewneck and some of their other fun stuff there is definitely hope. Thanks to the Mom with the original idea and posting of buying this for themselves!"

"This dress is even cuter in person than online. The only thing I'm concerned about is the washability. The price was a little high, but it is definitely the cutest thing in our closet."
