Bootleg Sweatpants

These are soft and comfy and pretty much perfect for after school activities, especially giggling on the sofa watching telly.

"We have 3 pairs of these - both striped ones and the brown ones. We have 9/10yrs for my just 10yr old who is of average height, very slim and small waisted. The fit is a bit baggy and the waist has to be pulled in quite a lot, but they should still fit next year. I agree with others in that they do have a tendancy to pill - the blue stripe (daughter's favourite) are the worst - and they do shrink in length on first wash. Having said that that ours are now the same length as the velour bootlegs which is fine. They are very soft and comfy and my daughter loves them for lounging in! Like many sweatpants they go a bit baggy at the knees. They are great value at sale price but we got the blue stripe at full price which given the niggles mentioned is a bit steep. All in all they do look good and are a firm favourite with the one who wears them !"

"My daughter is very slim and we RARELY get to find trousers that fit her, even when we adjust to the last holes of the ones that come with "adjustable waistband". Not anymore, ventured out with Boden and so far every single pair fitted her. Great job Boden!!!!!!!"

"love the colors and I got 4 of them, kept 3. My dd just turns 4 and she has a problem with zippers and bottons, this fit the bill. First, I got her the brown size 3-4 were too small from the waist. I got her 4-5 they were perfect! but after one wash and air dry shrunk! It end up like capri size and thight so I got her 5-6 a little pilling off, but she loved them and wanted to used them every single day. We had fights because she refused to use other pants. So I got her the pink one, big mistake! at the end of the 1st day they looked old and so much pilling, the stripe ones hold it better. I did not want them but my dd asked for them so insistently because they are easy to pull on and off and so soft. She actually looks for them. Make sure to size up as I had to, yes 2 sizes to get the perfect fit. They are indeed comfy and pill off a little."

"...after only one wearing! What a pity! These looked so comfy and my daughter really liked them, but after one wearing they looked horrible. Back they went in exchange for the velour bootlegs. These sweatpants are great in concept but the fabric really needs to be changed."

"I wash all my kid's clothes on cold and air dry everything. Nothing (except pj's) hits the dryer. I was really bummed to see how much these pants pilled despite my taking extra care in caring for them. They are too much money to pill like they did;("

"These pants were a little pricey for children's sweatpants, but they are nice and thick, look great and she wears them often. From a size perspective, they are a little short in length for a tall slim girl, but otherwise the fit is good."

"This was my first time buying these pants and I have to say that I really like them. They are so soft & comfy, great for my daughter's to play in. Very cozy on the inside as well. They do shrink a little in the wash, so suggest sizing up to allow for this."

"I bought the brown pair in a 4/5 for my small 5 year old and they fit well. I have washed them quite a few times(cold water and inside out) and they look just great! Also bought the blue stripe for my 9 year old in a 9/10 and they fit great and wash well. I never dry my girls Boden clothes as they are expensive and I like them to last!"

"Nice quality fabric. I had to go up a size to get these to fit my daughter in waist/leg area. As a result they are very long so I will be hemming them. I find that Boden kids pants run smaller than US equivalents, so may want to take that into consideration when ordering. Fabric quality is very good."

"these pants shrink way too much. the 3-4 are now ankle pants only after one washing. agree the next size is too long, the fabric on the pink pair faded very badly after one wash and the cotton looked worn. they do not fit like the velour bootleg, as they are appropriate sizing and do not shrink at all.
hopefully the next round of these will be better, as this is the first item i have ever been disappointed in."

"These are cute sweatpants, but they seem to be cut large. The drawstring is functional, but doesn't make the waist that much smaller. They are so big they fall off of my daughter when she walks. I would not recommend these for skinny tots like mine. I have bought almost all of my daughter's fall/winter clothes from Boden and these have gotten my lowest score. Sadly, they will have to go back."

"love love love love them BUT we need a 6 - 7! The 5 - 6 are too short and I've had to have the 7 - 8 taken up

There is too much difference between the sizes and we can't go a winter without these as they are just my daughters favourite after school pull ons"

"I bought these in both of the solid colours for my 91/2 year old daughter. They look lovely but have shrunk in the wash ( I have to admit that I put them in the dryer so that won't have helped !). They are now 2" + too short whereas other size 9-10s are a perfect fit. My daughter is quite skinny so imagine thay they wouldn't fit a more robust child. Having said that I am going to buy a bigger size because she loves them !"
