"I ordered this in red & blue for a choice of colours but had to return both as red too bright and blue too dull. My sister has the brown and I liked that but it was sold out by the time i ordered it.
There is however, a fantastic surprise which is the lining and the detail on this. I won't spoil the surprise other than to say, a shame it can't be worn inside out as the inside is nicer than the outside!
In the sale it is good value and not too expensive for an impulse purchase."

"I bought a size 8 in red, it's beautifully made inside and out, a little too roomy for me but then all of Boden is roomy for me - when will they go down to a 6? But the best thing about this coat is the compliments I have received - so many people have commented on it that I find it astonishing. An excellent purchase."

"It's a a bit late but boy do I love this coat! The cord is really thick and soft, the lining is really whimsical, the red color is bright and cheery, and the style is quite feminine. I was worried about sizing based on other reviews-- am a US 4/6 (5'4", 120lbs, 34b) -- but the 10 fits perfectly. I actually think the coat has more personality in person than in the photo. For the sale price, this was such a great deal. Couldn't be more pleased!"

"I ordered this coat in the sale and as such it is great value...probably a bit late for a review now as they seem to be sold out. I'm a 10/12 and ordered a 10 & a 12 The 10 is fine with a tee shirt underneath and the 12 with a thick jumper, however the shape is a bit odd under the bust where it is fitted, looks like it should be fitted lower down...I have a small bust and a long torso and it isn't a particularly slimming style for me. However the price and the lovely colour means I've kept the 12. I also think that the model picture is a little misleading as it doesn't shw the coat fastened, and to be honest I think the coat looks better unbuttoned, but that's not convenient for winter weather!"

"I got this coat in the sale and it is terrific value. there is a lot of material - the coat looked more slimline on the model. Love the lining - that's what made me want to keep it! Got my usual size 12 and it is quite big but I would want to wear a jumper under it so quite happy."

"I was given this coat initially for my birthday in sept 08 in the green colour. I loved it! I'm 5ft 10 with very long arms which I always find hard to find coats to fit well. This one is the best I've ever had! Then Boden put the coats in the sale in December and reduced the price of my lovely present, never one to miss a bargain I bought one for myself in the brown....love it too!. But guess what my lovely husband has done...bought me another for Valentines Day in ...you've guessed it ...in Red! I'm really meant to write a review but what can I say?...I love it so much, I've got 3!!!!!!!!!!"

"In my first venture onto the Boden website i came across this coat in the sale and promptly ordered it in the red. It is an absolutely stunning coat and i haven't had it off since it arrived. I ordered the 12 which is my usual size and it fits perfectly. I would get it in every colour if I could."

"I really enjoy wearing my great cord coat.It feels luxurious because of the softness and high quality of the cord.
The style is very flattering and feminine.The shaping tucks in just under the bust, and there are pleats which allow the lower part to drape over the hips in a pretty and feminine way. I have the red which is bright and very cheery, the brown which is a nice earthy every day coat, practical ,soft and warm, and I have to admit ! the pear also , which is a lovely colour, the cord somehow slightly less luxurious than the others but still great and I'm planning on wearing it as my springtime coat. I do love the buttoned belt at the back it is a lovely detail and the buttons on the coat are fab. It does have a Pride and Prejudice feel to it, very unusual.
I bought size16, and yes it is fitted over the bust which makes it feel smart,But you will need to get the size right if you have a larger cup size so that you can button it up with ease. A beautifully designed coat."

"I love this coat! Everytime I wear this coat, I get loads of compliment. I ordered the red size 12. Its quite fitted on the bodice and flares below the waist, but that's what makes this coat so attractive. The bright tomato red says "Here I come" which works just fine for me. It keep me warm with just a cami and blouse underneath in 40 degrees temp. Johnnie I am very satisfied with this one. Thanks."

"I love the style of this coat but the corduroy in the pockets adds too much bulk and the fabrics stick to each other. I plan on ripping out the fabric and adding lining fabric to the pockets so they lay flat. The price is well worth the effort and the style is so flattering!"

"This coat is great. I ordered it in brown - great colour - goes with everything. The fit is perfect. I am a size 12. I had no problems with the high waistband - there is plenty of room. The coat is very flattering on the hips and everywhere else. I am 5 foot 8. The arm length is perfect - it's important to have decent length sleeves. The style is wonderful - Thanks Boden."

"I ordered this in size 12 although I am size 10 on top and size 12 on bottom half. It fits great and there is a lot of fabric around the bottom half of the coat. Not sure if I should have bought a size 10 for a more snug fit but I can wear thick clothes under the size 12. I bought the bright red coat and love the colour. After telling my Mother about it, she also bought the same and loves it! Very heavy fabric and fantastic quality. A total stranger walked past me and said "Nice coat" :-)"

"This coat really is absolutely gorgeous. A great style with a beautiful lining. Love the soft jumbo cord with large buttons, peter pan collar, half belt and vintage 'frock' styling (i.e it is fitted, then flares out from under the bust). I am a size 10 and have the size 8, which fits perfectly. Unsure why some find the fit small, I always find Boden to have a more than generous cut. Please bring this back winter '09 in different colours; maybe teal or bottle green? Best-cord-coat-ever!"

"Thiis is a good quality coat and at the sale price very good value.It was the fit that I was disappointed with.I ordered a size 10. I'm small busted but it was very snug across the chest .I feel the next size may have been better on the chest but then too big elsewhere as there is plenty of fabric in the cost.I am 5ft 3'' and am between a size 10 and 12."

"A truly fabulous coat! I bought the red (in the sale!) and it is a wonderful tomato red - exactly what you find in the shops at the moment. Beautiful lining and a fantastic fit. I'm size 10 and 5'5" and it fits beautifully though I don't think I would be able to wear a very chunky jumper underneath.

It is a stunning coat and I'm tempted to get another colour!"

"I bought this coat in the sale and it's one of my best purchases this season, or possibly ever! I have it in red which is definitely not for the shy and retiring - a very bright, true scarlet shade - rather unexpectedly very flattering with my blonde colouring! It looks fantastic combined with other primary colours or black, especially with a skirt and boots. The styling of this coat with its high waist, half-belt, big contrast buttons and of course the lining, make it stand out even more (as if the colour wasn't enough!). The cord is lovely, soft and thick enough to wear in the winter. I am 5'7", 34B and coat in size 8 fits perfectly, with enough room for a jumper, the length being an inch or so above the knee. And the fact that it's machine-washable make it a 10/10 for me, thanks Boden!"

"This is my first ever purchase from Boden, and admittedly it was in the sale, but after getting this coat I wouldn't hesitate in buying from Boden again, full price. The coat islovely, albeit a little odd around the hips, but the colour and fabric is gorgeous, I've had so many compliments today. I feel really great wearing it. I am only 5"2 and it is perhaps a touch too long, but i don't care, it's now officially my favourite item of clothing."

"Can't understand why this hasn't sold out, esp at this price. I bought for £50 some time ago in the red and thought that was a bargain. A really striking coat - always cheers me up when I wear it! Good quality too."
