"The size 12 worked out beautifully; this is the first skirt I've purchased from Boden, and it was neither too loose nor too snug. It's a fine sort of twilled fabric with a very nice drape, maybe too light for the coldest days, but not insubstantial and easily season-spanning. Besides being entirely pretty (the pattern is wonderful) it's practical--the pockets are great, and I love that it's machine washable."

"I have two of these skirts, one in the Blackberry and one in the yellow print and I love them both!. The fabric is just right with tights for winter and I can see myself wearing it in the summer as well. I am a size 6-8 but the size 8 is a little loose round the waist, but this is the only quibble I have. Slightly overpriced originally but great value at the sale price."

"Received the Chic Skirt in pink today. Fabric is nicer than described by some reviewers and the fit is pretty good ( I am size 10 uk and ordered 10 Regular). The skirt sits nicely just on the knee (I am about 5ft 5 in). A nice weight to the fabric-not heavy or light-right for spring."

"I just received the wrong size (warehouse mistake) and am eagerly waiting for the right one to arrive. It is beautiful! Hope smaller size fits. Material and pattern, I purchased the orchid, are what you expect from Boden. Since there are some left you might pick one up in the sale, but beware that it does run large in the waist."

"I hesitated about buying this, as I thought it was lovely, but a bit expensive at full price. I bought the blackberry 10R on sale , and adored it , but found it marginally short ( I'm 5'5" ) so then got the pink in a 10L, andf liked it even more- it looks terrific with a pink cashmere sweater. I'm so happy with these skirts that I am contemplating getting the yellow one, too. They fit beautifully, and are extremely flattering. If you are thinking about getting this, go ahead- at the sale price you simply can't go wrong. What length you choose depends on the final look you want, and the quality is excellent."

"I really liked this skirt. It ordered my normal size 10R but discovered it is not meant for my body tipe: a pear shape (tops size 8, bottoms 10). It accentuates the hips so I think it would look better on someone with an hourglass figure or just slimmer. I will have to return it."

"I hesitated originally in purchasing this skirt because I wasn't sure it would work with my body type (I have wide hips compared to my waist) Normally I go for an A line skirt but the fabulous print, and in the end the sale price, won me over. I bought my normal size, kept my fingers crossed and wasn't disappointed! The quality is amazing, very soft fabric that doesn't seem to wrinkle too easily. Best of all, it looks great on. My only complaint is that there seems to be quite a bit of extra fabric in the belly area, which when standing, hangs nicely but puffs up quite a bit when sitting. Despite that, it really is a lovely skirt and I'm very pleased with my purchase. In the future, I will not immediately rule out anything not A-line."

"This is a lovely little skirt - stylish and pretty. I am 5'4" tall and for trousers and skirts buy a boden size 8 or 10. I've got this in the berry and pink colours in a size 8R and it fits and drapes nicely coming just below the knee. I've got the dotty flower skirt in a size 10R (which is slightly big on the hips) because it's a different shape - I think the 8 would grip the hips spoiling the line. All in all it's great value for money at the sale price - I wouldn't have paid full price - I can see it being a useful addition to my wardrobe as part of my mission to get myself out of jeans -highly recommend it!"

"Everything about this skirt is adorable. The prints, the shape, the length, the pockets (hurrah!) and the finish. This has to be one of the most flattering Boden skirt shapes that covers both dressy and casual occasions in a while. I have this in a 14 owing to excess baggage around the middle and it is fabulous - skims all the right bits and drapes beautifully. I love this skirt so much that I have three colours in a 14 and two in a 12 for when the I shift the excess! The 12 does fit but I'm not comfortable wearing things too snugly. This skirt is reminiscent of a fifties style, definitely has a vintage tailored feel to it. If you're considering buying this- do!"

"I also bought this skirt in the sale and it's absoluetly terrific! The fit is perfect, i'm usually a size 12 in Boden and that's what i purchased. The length is wonderful too, i'm 5"2 and it comes to just below my knees which is very flattering. The fit is very flattering, i'm a pear shape and usually go for A line skirts but this is lovely, it just skims everything but it's not too tight like a pencil skirt would be. I can't say enough good things about this skirt and for the amazing sale price i'd get one in every colour if there were any left! The pattern and colour are so romantic-i got the orchid pinky one. I felt like a million dollars when i tried it on and can't wait to wear it out properly!"

"I got this skirt in orchid in the sale (thought the original price was a little steep) and LOVE it!!! My standard size is the perfect fit, it's flattering, and what a treat to find it has that 'vintage tailored' look when on. Looks great in winter with a dark jumper and can't wait to wear it in summer with a vest top. Love the soft fabric and bright - but not too bright - pattern. Will be very happy to see similar designs again in future."

"I was hoping that the select other reviews about this skirt in black were not true, but they were. Boo. Material did look cheap; should've been done in a spandex/wool/silk combo to get the desired look. Don't know why this done with a thin jersey. And OK yeah, why have this skirt, in black, for winter? Are you kidding? This is not a fall/winter skirt; if anything, I'd describe this as a failed spring skirt. Boden should've stuck w/ the prints only, and done a black pencil skirt in a similar style with more of a heavy-weight/stretchy fabric. Thinking of exchanging for a print, however, I'm hesitant to do so. Because the fabric is so light, I would need to find a solid blouse w/ cardigan that doesn't weight down the skirt. Either that, or pair w/ a thick, chunky sweater w/ dolman sleeves that's fitted in the waist, so I don't lose my shape."

"I have this skirt in the yellow print and have worn it constantly since it arrived. The print is very fun and lively, but the style is formal enough for our 'business casual' dresscode at work. I have been wearing it with the brown 'favourite polo neck'. I feel really cheerful whenever I wear it, and people often comment on how nice it is.
The size 10 (my usual size) fits me well and is flattering on my pear-shaped figure. I have only given it 4 stars for quality because there is a small fault in the fabric. I didn't bother to return it because the print disguises the fault. Apart from this, I love it!"

"I really liked the idea of this skirt--envisioning kind of a pencil skirt with pleating that allows pockets--but in practice the fit wasn't flattering on my type. (I'm 5'5", standard american size 6.) It appeared too boxy, with the pleating emphasizing the hips and midsection, and the waistband too loose to counteract that by emphasizing the waist. Might also have helped if the skirt were a bit longer on me and tailored like a pencil skirt? That said, the fabric (I ordered the black) was very soft and the lining smooth--so maybe it would fit another figure better, but I was sorry to have to return it."
